Brand New Boxed R1282M DCC Ready Hornby 00 Gauge train set of the Iconic Mallard "Record Breaker"  Train Set complete with a Hornby track extension pack A included to extend the basic oval. 

On the 3rd July 1938 the LNER locomotive "Mallard" set the world speed record for a steam engine at 126mph at Stoke Bank, south of Grantham. Yeasr later with the nationalisation of the railways the locomotive's feat was not forgotten, with "Mallard" maintaining its celebrity status among train spotters of the day while continuing to haul express passenger trains along the East Coast Mainline. This train set encapsulates the endearing allure of "Mallard" as it would have appeared in the early 1950s. 

The set consists of the following:-

1 x LNER Class A4 4-6-2 "Mallard" Locomotive,  

2 x BR Gresley Composite Coaches,

1 x BR Gresley Brake Coach,

1 x 3rd Radius Starter Oval of Track with Power Connecting Track,

1 x Track Extension Pack 'A' including Point and Buffer Stop,

1 x Analogue Train Controller,

1 x Wall Plug Transformer,

1 x Re-Railer, 

and a Hornby 1600mm x 1180mm Midi Track Mat.
