Up for auction is a wonderful TINY BETTY "COLONIAL" from the International Doll series made by Madame Alexander.  The Tiny Betty dolls were 7" composition dolls made in the 1930's, with a one-piece body and head, and jointed at the shoulders and hips. They have mohair wigs, blue painted eyes looking to the right, and painted on white socks and black shoes. They are all marked on their backs MME/ALEXANDER. This darling Colonial Lady Tiny Betty is found in McKeon's book "Rare and Hard to Find Madame Alexander Collector's Dolls" on pg. 87 and the author denotes her as RARE.  She is all original, with some light craze lines throughout, but no cracks or breaks in her composition. She displays great, but under bright light and in pictures the crazing is evident. Her updo of white mohair is just spectacular! And she holds her black lace fan on her wrist.  Stringing is tight and she moves her arms and legs well. The outfit is just stunning. It has never been laundered and retains great color and body in the fabric.  There are a few light discolorations on the left side, very minor, and I've provided  close-up for you to see. No tears or odors found. She came to us in this flowered box which is correctly labeled "Colonial". Also, inside the box is the original leaflet and someone checked off the title Colonial in the International Doll group.   She's a tiny little treasure!  We are also listing a 1930's Mme Alexander cloth doll this week and another Tiny Betty. Take a look! Thanks.
