THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Pete The Pup doll is 9 1/2” tall. I will call him Pete the Pup because he is identical in size & design to the well known Pete the Pup that you can find on eBay every day EXCEPT this Pete has no markings, no chest decal & he is painted in Black & White. Looks like Pete is wearing a ghost costume for Halloween. He has a composition head & body with arms & legs of wood. The doll is in excellent original condition & stands on its own. I will assume that this rare variation on Pete the Pup was also created by Joseph Kallus, head doll designer & founder of the Cameo Doll Co. whose name appears on the branded Pete dolls. The composition head & body are in excellent original condition showing some play wear especially on his white bottom. The composition head & body show overall crazing lines. The jointed arms, hands, legs & shoes are all wood these parts are in excellent condition. I can think of no reason why this doll is in black & white other than as a Halloween doll which would give it great crossover collector appeal. This is only the 3rd one I have ever seen in B&W & I am certain that the paint colors are factory originals.
