Le illy Art Collection, serie di tazzine d’artista che l’azienda triestina realizza sin dal 1992, sono una delle espressioni più evidenti del rapporto che illycaffè intrattiene con l’arte contemporanea. Alcuni degli esponenti più autorevoli del panorama artistico internazionale e giovani emergenti hanno trasformato un oggetto di uso quotidiano come la tazzina - in questo caso reinventata dall’architetto e designer Matteo Thun – in un oggetto di culto: da Michelangelo Pistoletto a Marina Abramović, da Anish Kapoor a Daniel Buren, da Robert Rauschenberg a Jeff Koons, da Jan Fabre a James Rosenquist, da Jannis Kounellis a Julian Schnabel, da Louise Bourgeois a William Kentridge.
