These will be the last plants we list for a few weeks; we’ve a busy time coming up with shows, judging etc as well as repotting most of the collection. We look forward to meeting quite a few of our eBay customers at cactus events over the summer and will be back with more new plants on Thursday 13th June.
Gymnocalycium
Horridispinum is a distinctive cactus from Argentina with strong grey spines,
much stronger spined than most other Gymnocalyciums. It flowers over the summer months though
will take another year to reach flowering size. It has large pale mauve flowers once it
reaches flowering size, an unusual flower colour for Gymnocalyciums, and
flowers a few times over the summer.
It
measures 3.4cms across excluding spines and is the plant in the photo.
We've been
growing cacti and succulents since 1975 and regularly give talks at BCSS branch
meetings and judge cactus shows during the summer. If you're not a member of
the British Cactus & Succulent Society,
have a look at their website, most branches have regular monthly
meetings and there's always a warm welcome for prospective new members.
