This product is a vintage/retro style 6x6 ceramic wall mount recessed soap dish holder and is suitable for use in bathrooms and shower walls. The piece has a depth of 3.25 inches and is installed using glue or thinset mortar right into the wall.  So you do need at least that depth behind your tile for it to work. It is of course waterproof and best of all made in the USA about 60 years ago MCM. The brand is Mosaic and it weighs 46 ounces.  There unfortunately is a small chip on the upper left corner, but that should cover up with caulk or grout when you install it.
