St Maximillian Kolbe
Single Decade Rosary
Beautiful pocket rosary dedicated St Kolbe, who is the patron of those addicted especially to drugs, although he is also helpful if you would like to break the hold of alcohol or nicotine.
The 7/8" nickel silver medal has St Kolbe on one side and on the other, an image of Our Lady of the Two Crowns, which refers to a vision Maximillian had as a youth. The Blessed Mother appeared to him and offered him a choice of two crowns - a white crown for a life of heroic virtue, or a red crown of martyrdom. Max said he would take both, and his life and death confirmed it. Both the medal and the 1-1/2" gold-toned St Benedict crucifix were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was handmade in the USA by me. All eleven beads are 8mm, smooth, round, natural, genuine semi-precious gemstones. The Our Father is a Blue Adventurine and the ten Hail Mary beads are Tree Agates.

St Max Kolbe was a courageous priest who gave up his life in the Auschwitz concentration camp in the place of another man who was slated for death. The Nazis killed him by injecting him in the veins with carbolic acid, a terrible way to die. He is a modern 20th century saint who is the patron of people who want to break their addiction to drugs. He is also one of our wonderful Pro-Life saints, especially against capital punishment, euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. Would make a wonderful gift for anyone addicted to drugs, alcohol or anything else; or for someone who works with them. St Maximillian is one of our favorite saints - he was very helpful when I quit smoking!!
