System restore and image recovery will only work if your hard drive contains the files required for the process to start and complete.  They must also be intact, and not damaged.  If you are experiencing a problematic hard drive, this suite will probably be only able to help you salvage your data, but will not be able to restore your OS. 
We are offering two solutions due to the fact that there is not a "one fix for all" disc.  The more knowledgeable you are with recovery environments, the more successful this will be. 
This contains no OS or factory software so you will not be able to install from scratch, and this is only intended for repair and file recovery.
