Vintage/Antique 3 Pound Unbranded Broad Head Hewing Axe With 5-1/2" Wide Bit

You are bidding on an antique UNBRANDED Broad Head Hewing Axe Head (see pics). The cutting edge actually looks like it still has the original factory ground edge on it (see pics). In other words, this axe head has never been sharpened after it left the factory years ago (see pics). The cutting edge does have some big some small chips and nicks on it (see pics). The poll end is missing some big and some small pieces of steel around the edges of it, but has no mushrooming at all (see all pics). The axe head is nice and symmetrical for being an old hewing axe head (see pics). The axe head does have some scratches, scrapes, dings and pitting on all sides of the axe head. All of these things are normal to find on an old used woodworking tool like this axe head is (see pics). One of the 4 triangular axe-lips or lugs around the eye of the axe head has been peened down from a hammer at some point in time, and left a very jagged looking lug (see last pic). I left the very old wood and square and round head nails in the eye of the axe, because I kinda like the looks of it (see pics). The axe head weighs in at 2 pounds 15.0 oz. (almost 3 pounds). The axe head is 6-5/8" long from bit to poll, with a  5-1/2" wide cutting edge.
