Selling this beautiful Tanglewood Java guitar: model TWJD CE with an RRP of £599.

It has been well maintained and plays very well. nice low action and comfortable neck. The solid cedar top gives the guitar a mellow, warm tone.

To me it seems best suited for folk music, but it is a very versatile instrument.

The back is Amara Ebony, with Spalt Mango panels.

I acquired this guitar 2nd hand and have treated it well with regular maintenance, and had it professionally set up and serviced.

I am selling because I have too many guitars. I am still quite attached to it and in no rush to sell, so I will only consider serious offers. Please feel free to ask me any further questions about the guitar!

*Please note* I had this guitar set up to be optimised for Open D/G/C or 1/2 step below standard (D# standard) tunings with “medium” gauge strings (currently Ernie Ball 13–56, which are quite heavy). It would probably be fine in standard tuning, though you might need to adjust the truss.

There are several minor dings to the body from wear and tear, which I have tried to show all of in the pictures, but no damage that affects the sound or structural integrity.

This guitar does have discrete electronics inside the soundhole, but I have never used them. I don’t believe they work, but they could most likely be fixed-up by someone who knows that they’re doing. This installation of the electronics on this particular guitar is different to those pictured on Tanglewood’s website, with no panel cut into the sides of the guitar so they are much less obvious and will impact the acoustic sound less – which to me is a big positive.
