### Description:

Up for auction is a rare gem: the Genuine Apple iPod 40GB 4th Generation HP Edition. This iPod, circa 2004, is a special edition created through Apple's partnership with HP, making it a unique collector's item. It was the first iPod Classic to feature this version of the iconic click-wheel, which was first introduced in the iPod Mini around the same period.

This is a used item, so please expect some signs of use, including minor marks, scuffs, and scratches, all purely cosmetic. The device is fully functional and has been carefully restored to its former glory with a better battery and high-speed 64GB flash memory using premium parts and tools from iFixit and iFlash.

Originally purchased from a reseller on eBay, this iPod has been part of my esteemed vintage collection for several years. While the battery life may not be as good as it was when first installed, the iPod remains a valuable collector's item. I will include a basic cable and charger with this iPod. Most vintage Apple iPods from this era need to be plugged into a FireWire cable and charger once restored. I have taken the liberty of syncing this iPod with my vintage iBook and pre-loading it with a curated selection of songs. Though these tunes may not cater to every taste, they serve as a delightful showcase for sharing with friends and family. If you wish to add your personal touch, you are welcome to send me a selection of your cherished CDs, and I can load them onto the iPod for you. Alternatively, you might consider investing in a vintage iBook or PowerBook to manage the tunes on this device yourself.

#### UPDATE:

I have updated this iPod to include Rockbox. Although I attempted to load Gameboy ROMs, they did not work, likely due to compatibility issues. Rockbox comes with several pre-loaded titles, and while the interface consumes more battery, it offers an interesting break from the standard iPod interface. Please see the screenshots for details. Note that the iPod may struggle to provide an accurate battery reading with Rockbox installed.

This offering is extended to dedicated iPod enthusiasts who will cherish and safeguard its legacy. Due to the collectible nature of this item, returns are not accepted. However, I welcome prospective buyers to arrange viewings before purchase to ensure absolute confidence in this acquisition.

Also included in this auction is the Griffin iTalk. Despite significant yellowing on one side and minor signs of use, this vintage device continues to function admirably after almost two decades. While the sound quality may be tinny and hollow, it is fully functional and offers a unique recording and playback experience using the built-in speaker and microphone, all controlled through the iPod's click-wheel interface.
