Menyanthes is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Menyanthaceae containing the single species Menyanthes trifoliata. The North American form is often referred to as M. trifoliata var. minor Michx. It is known in English by the common names bogbean and buckbean.

Medicinal action and application according to folk medicine and modern phytotherapy. It is used as a pain reliever - for joint pains, an appetite stimulant, anthelmintic, choleretic, calming the nervous system and antipyretic.

Recommended daily dose for an adult: 1 tablespoon is infused in 300 ml of boiling water. Soak for 60 minutes. It is strained. Drink 150 ml 3 times before meals. Store in a dry place, at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of small children.
