Herniaria glabra, known as smooth rupturewort, is a plant of the family Caryophyllaceae. Growing in North America and Europe. It contains herniarin, a methoxy analog of umbelliferone.

Action and administration: Urinary (diuretic) and soothing spasms of the smooth musculature. It is most commonly used in inflammation and sand or stones in the kidneys and bladder and less frequently in edema.

Directions: Apply 3 teaspoons of herb in 500 ml of boiling water. After 15 minutes the infusate is squeezed and dipped in 3-4 servings for 1 day.
