This is a vintage French or Italian portrait miniature oil painting of a beautiful woman.

I can’t be certain, but I would estimate it dates circa 1940s or 1950s.

The frame it is in measures 7 inches high x 6 1/4 inches wide (17.8 cm x 15.9 cm). The painting measures 3 1/2 inches high x 2 3/4 inches wide (8.9 cm x 7 cm).

The painting is signed in the upper right corner Ida Calzolari. I did some preliminary research and found she is an Italian painter born in 1936.

Interestingly, the paper in the back is covered in fleur de lis, which initially led me to think the painting was French. Perhaps she’s an Italian painter painting a French woman?

The painting is in very good condition.

The frame is also in very good condition, with just a few scattered nicks and some light wear to the surface.

Overall, this is a beautiful painting in a beautiful frame.

It weighs 7 1/2 ounces (216 g).
