Up for your consideration is this antique Tibetan beaded mala! This is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, featuring 108 prayer beads made from coconut shell, amber, pema raka, and chank shell.

This piece is from Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhist culture. Coconut shells as counting beads is rare for malas such as these as they would have had to be imported and would have been expensive. The coconut shell beads are interspersed with natural butterscotch fossil amber beads which are capped with silver, as well as ancient pema raka beads, and chank shell beads.

This piece is a valuable addition to any collection of Asian collectibles and cultures & ethnicities. Use it for meditation or display it as a stunning collectible piece.

This mala measures approximately 20” long overall if it could be opened. It has a drop of 12 1/2”. It is in overall excellent antique condition.
