JVC MK-100 VINTAGE HANDHELD PORTABLE CASSETTE PLAYER / RECORDER - SPARES / REPAIR

Description from seller - A JVC MK-100 Handheld Cassette Recorder / Player. This is a lovely looking portable unit with a metal body, it takes full size cassettes and can play back through it's built in speaker. It has a built in LED VU meter for recording. Visually, it is in good condition. Once a cassette is loaded, operating the controls causes the spindles to turn occasionally but it does not have sufficient torque to rewind or forward. It will also occasionally play a cassette, with audio output, but it soon stops. I suspect the belts are on their last legs and will need replacing. Only other point I noticed was that when playback stalls due to the belts slipping but the control is still engaged, there is a whining sound through the speaker. Supplied with the original instruction manual. Sold as seen, for spares or repair.
