This is a 1:1 exact scale replica of the Amazing Spider-Man #1, produced by the high-end UK literary publisher Folio Society in full collaboration with Marvel, who provided them with an issue of this comic from their vaults for the Folio Society to scan and reproduce. It includes all original pages and ads, and unlike other facsimiles (including by Marvel themselves) does not include a barcode or modern pricing on the front cover, making it that much closer to the original. The comic comes in its own foil-stamped sleeve as seen in the last 2 photos. The book is unread, and was only carefully opened for these photos.

This is the closest official replica of Spider-Man's first title produced yet, with inks and paper type chosen to reflect the original publication as much as possible. Saying that, its closeness to the original comic is still subjective, with the page hue on this one closer to a darker brown/pinkish hue than was present in the original. Plenty of photos have been provided, however, with and without flash so please take the time to assess the pictures yourself and make your own judgement.

Will a replica like this fool a professional grading company like CGC into thinking it's the original comic? Of course not. Being a replica, no matter how good, it will still lack the sharpness and unmistakable "vintageness" of the original comic, but in my opinion it's still far superior to the overly glossy and bright, overly "digitally-enhanced" facsimiles Marvel themselves put out, and a very cool item to own and display.

It will be sent in both the sleeve and an additional bag and board, then put into a comic mailer and then into an additional box for ultimate protection.

Spider-Man first appeared in the pages of 1962’s Amazing Fantasy #15, an anthology title on the brink of cancellation. But the wall-crawler proved so phenomenally popular that he received his own title just seven months later. Launching in March 1963, The Amazing Spider-Man #1 has been reproduced here as a perfect replica, stored within its own pocket. Avoiding all digital remastering, Folio has scanned an original collector’s copy, leaving no authentic detail excluded, from vintage toy ads to grains in the newsprint. Spider-Man creators Lee and Ditko defied convention by making their Super Hero not a muscleman, but a scrawny teenager more concerned about paying the rent than saving the world, and in the process created an enduring cultural icon.
