This is the Eagle Book of Amazing Stories from 1974.

Eagle was the iconic, high quality, comic first published in the 1950s to counteract american imports  (perceived as violent and crude) and as such it changed the face of British comics.

It aimed to educate and inform, and published annuals, as was usual at the time. The most famous character was Dan Dare the space hero.  Its educational remit meant the there were also lots of factual books such as this.  As the photos show, it has a wide range of historical stories.  The only downside is that this book dates from the end of the original Eagle's reign when the quality had dropped - in particular it lacks the colour which was such a crucial part of the original comic.

Ideal for fans of Eagle  - or "boys" of a certain age needing diversion!

This annual is complete and readable, but has signs of wear (particularly on the spine), a gift inscription and small drawings in the front, and some page yellowing.
