A very lovely book.

Condition VERY GOOD: in publisher's original blind-stamped gilt decorated cloth binding; lacking dustjacket; binding tight and secure; cracking/separating of pages between the front free endpaper and the following blank endpaper; slight fading of the cloth at the spine and around the edges; cloth frayed at the corners of the boards; page edges darkened; decorative endpapers followed by plain endpapers -  plain endpapers and half-title page moderately foxed and occasional slight spotting thereafter;  illustrations good; some off-setting staining from the tissue guard papers.  A  lovely copy.
