shorter layer has a lowgrade freshwater pearl center piece, and the longer layer has a unique scarab beetle-star-pearl center pendant.

the beetle's head is a human skull, it has crystals and a oil-slick colored bead in the center of its thorax, and its body is a smoky resin cabochon over an iridescent, abalone shell underlayer.

its very pretty in real life.

obviously, since they're made of natural shell, the swirls on the body are going to be different on each beetle, but they're all iridescent like that. 

pearls are each a bit different too.

the 2 layers are attached by an ingenious center piece at the nape. not only does it adjust several inches for your neck, but its two smaller clasps allow you to remove either layer if you only want to wear one, OR add other layers to it, if you have something that matches.

beetle itself is 1.25" long, .75" wide
