Raymond Yard Edwardian Old European Diamond Star Ruby Ring Platinum Estate

This is a beautiful antique ring circa 1870s crafted in platinum. It is marked YARD for Raymond Yard.  The ring is set with a prettiest bright red genuine earth mined round cabochon cut star ruby in the center. The ruby measures 5.5mm in diameter, it is estimated to be 1 carat. It has a subtle star, that moves across the top of the gem as light passes over it in electric lighting. Lovely stone!  The ruby is adorned by 8 very tall old European cut diamonds in a halo and 6 more single cut diamonds.  Grand total estimated diamond weight is 1.40 carats. Very tall diamonds, they carry their weight on top. As the result-MAGICAL SPARKLE! The diamonds are estimated to be VS-1-2 in clarity and FG in color. These are colorless/near colorless diamonds! Very rare for old diamonds to be this white. The ring weighs 5.6 grams and is size 6-3/4 finger (easily sizable). The presentation measures 13.45mm tall and spans 18.5mm across your finger. Very low profile ring, it is raised 5.5mm high from your finger. There are some initials, we left them there for provenance, they could be easily removed by your jeweler.
