This is a beautiful pair of antique Derby figures circa 1760 known as the idyllic musicans, he with drum and pipe, she with a tambourine.

Beautifully modelled and painted both figures have very fine detailing including the floral painting to her skirt and his waistcoat.

Both figures incised 311 to the bases.

In good display condition, the male figure with an area of loss to the edge of his cloak (pictured), the triangle and baton on the female figure repaired, the tip of her right shoe missing, some losses to the bocage and to the feathers on the headdresses, a little dusty from age.

Height of each figure is 21 cms.
