It appears to be in its original condition with patina consistent with its age. It appears to have all the pieces that came with it and all the glass appears intact. 

The original 1940 Certificate of Examination in very good condition is attached to the wood case and a deteriorated 1947 certificate is in the box as well. 

It comes in the original solid wood box.  

This is a really nice piece of maritime history. It would make a great collectible or display piece.
