A 1930s /
1940s men’s double-breasted overcoat made of black wool with an attractive and
very stylish herringbone weave. Two internal pockets, three external including
a handkerchief / breast pocket. The stylish herringbone motif is carried
through on to the interior lining. No makers label but I suspect it is of
continental (or possibly American) manufacture rather than British.
Recently dug out of long-term storage. Signs of
wear consistent with age and usage (please see attached photographs). Two small rips to the lining near the hem but otherwise structurally sound and in good
vintage condition.
The
overcoat has an elegantly narrow cut. Laid flat the measurements in inches are
as follows:
Shoulder
to shoulder: 19.5
Shoulder
seam to cuff: 24.75
Armpit to
armpit: 19.25
Collar to
hem: 48
As you can see by the photographs this is a bulky item. Hence the high postage cost.
