Before there was Sherlock Holmes, before James Bond there was Honolulu Detective Charlie Chan. Beginning in 1931 with the first Chan film, “Charlie Chan Carries On”. The first Charlie Chan was actor Warner Oland, who made 15 films before his untimely death in 1938. Oland was replaced with Sidney Toler who made 22 Chan films before his death in 1947. Roland Winters would take over for Toler and go on to make six more Chan films for Monogram Studios.

Beautiful Complete lobby card set of eight lobby cards including the coveted Title Card.  It can take several years to put together one of the 70-80 years old lobby card sets. 

We just acquired a Large Charlie Chan collection including about Eight complete sets.  Each card has on the back two pieces of paper (easily removed as it has very light adhesive) identifying the specific lobby card and the Owner’s name and city.  I have blocked out the names and city on the digital image only for privacy reasons.   It’s pretty nice that they catalogued and identified each card. 

I will offer each set complete for limited time.  If the sets do not sell, I will break them up and sell each card individually.    It would be great to see the sets sell intact and historically preserved together, unfractured.

Condition:  Lobby Cards are overall in Very Good-Excellent with expected border wear, minor border tears.  Colors are bright and beautiful. 

NOTE:  Each card is in a Protective hard plastic top loader, so group image looks washed because they are each behind plastic. They are NOT Faded or washed out, original cards are Bright Colors!   I took a few photos of individual cards so you can see the bright colors and how they actually look in person out fo the plastic holder.
