The machine is passively cooled and entirely silent.
The PCI-Express x4 slot on the motherboard is extended using an open-ended non-OEM riser that can accept x1, x4, x8 and x16 cards.
The processor includes AES instructions for accelerated crypto (e.g. VPN) and AMD-V support for virtualization.
The system board is a standard mITX form factor fitted in a robust yet light vented steel case. The SoC is cooled by a passive heatsink without a fan. The machine is entirely silent and uses very little power.
Another interesting feature of these machines is that they can run on a supply ranging between 16 and 21 volts. They dropout at 15.75v. The DC barrel connector is a standard 5.5mm/2.5mm type.
