Here are two vintage Sterling China cup and saucer sets of glossy ivory heavy-gauge vitrified china.  All four pieces have two stirpes - a thin band of caramel brown and a line of black.  These are classic American diner style restaurant ware from the mid-century.

The cups are 2.25" tall with a rim diameter of 3.75".  The saucers are 6" in diameter with 1" high sides.  Each set weighs 1 lb 6 oz.

Condition is very good with no chips, cracks, crazing or discoloration. However, they have a couple of common glaze specks and pops, including an obvious flaw on the inside bottom of one cup, see last photo.

The backstamp with logo on all pieces reads "Sterling China, J.L. Pasmantier and Sons".  This backstamp style was in use from 1932 to the 1970s.  John L. Pasmantier and Son operated in New York City from 1892 to 1982 and were known distributors of Sterling China.
