This is a very rare cocktail glass. It is from Pete & Billy Snyder's Melody Room at 8852 Sunset Strip, which is in West Hollywood, California. I don't think there are too many of these glasses around. It is 3 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" across the top with a flared out solid glass bottom that is 3" across. The black graphics are in excellent condition and don't show any wear or fading. There is one super tiny little bite on the outside rim of the glass that you can only feel with your fingertip. I tried to take a photo but it is so small I couldn't get a good enough picture.
This old lounge or bar, the Melody Room has many stories to tell that went down in history. It was brothers, Pete & Billy Snyder's from 1951 - 1969 who were both World War II vets. The Melody room was a mainstay and hang-out in the Los Angeles music scene. It has gangsters including Mickey Cohen and Bugs Siegel who were regulars there. The Melody room is one of the oldest buildings has had several different names such as Young's Market and then Safeway, The Cotton Club, Greenwich Village Inn, Rue Angel, The Last Call, and presently the Viper Room.
This glass is a very collectible piece of history! Please let the photos be the best description.
