1948 Press Photo A plane drops hay to a horse stranded by flood in Pecatonica

Pecatonica, Illinois - Nig, a black saddle horse which has been stranded two weeks on a patch of high ground by flood waters and ice, prances happily as a plane zoomed low and dropped him hay. Patty Cox, his five-year-old mistress, said that he has gotten used to being fed from the plane, and always looks up in the sky whenever he hears a plane. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1948.
