Star Wars: Empire: Darklighter was a story arc in the Star Wars: Empire comic book. 

He was known for his irregular publishing schedule. 

In the Trade Paperback commercial, it was renamed The Saga of Biggs Darklighter.Contains "Empire" episodes 8 - 9 - 12 -15: "The Saga of Biggs Darklighter" and 10 - 11: "The Short, Happy Life of Roons Sewell".

Biggs Darklighter was a human pilot who fought for the Rebel Alliance at the start of the Galactic Civil War. 

Originally from the desert planet Tatooine, he became a childhood friend of Luke Skywalker. 

Once they became pilots, Biggs and Luke wanted to leave Tatooine. 

Darklighter left his homeworld to join the Imperial Academy, but deserted the Galactic Empire after obtaining his commission and joined the Rebellion. 

He returned to Tatooine one last time to inform Skywalker of his decision.His past and his planet behind him, Darklighter took up residence in the rebel base of Yavin 4. 

There, he found Skywalker, who had just participated in the rescue of Princess Leia Organa, one of the leaders of the Alliance, and had recovered the secret plans for the Death Star, a space station capable of destroying an entire planet. 

The Rebels analyzed the plans and planned an attack, in which Darklighter and Skywalker participated as members of Red Squadron. 

Skywalker ultimately destroyed the Death Star, but Darklighter was killed by Darth Vader during the assault.Biggs Darklighter first appeared in the 1977 film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. 

He is played by British actor Garrick Hagon.
