This auction is for a postcard sized photograph of the United Whaling Co of London owned whale factory ship Abraham Larsen which was originally built  in 1937 as Unitas for German owners. In 1939 she passed to the German Navy- name unchanged. In 1945 she became Empire Victory. Purchased in 1950 and renamed Abraham Larsen. In 1957 she was sold to Japan to become Nisshin Maru No 2 and was broken up in 1987.

This is a plain backed photograph on card stock copyrighted by John Whitefield, Canada. I will always mention any significant damage but given that these photos have been collected over the past 30 years there may be minor edge or corner wear on some. Please look at my scanned photos to satisfy yourself of their condition.

Please note that given the recent changes in both domestic and international postage as well as the rising cost of envelopes and postcard plastics I have had to raise my postage and packing charges but the price is the same for up to 6 photos.

Returns will be accepted in respect of any serious damages not advised or if the item is mis-described. Buyer to pay return postage.

I normally list on Sundays so please look back regularly. If you are after any particular ships or shipping lines please ask and I will see what I have.

A change in my personal circumstances means that I need to dispose of a large part of my personal collection of ship photos and postcards amassed over 30 years. This is one of a number of ship photographs which I will be listing. Unless otherwise indicated  my photographs are on postcard stock and are mainly copyrighted photographs rather than recent reprints or  photocopies which some other traders are selling. Postage can be combined so if you do win more than one please wait for an invoice to be sent to you. I will ship worldwide but if outside Europe please ask for postage costs which I will be pleased to combine.
