Jiminy Cricket is a fictional character and Pinocchio's conscience in Carlo Collodi's 1883 children's book The Adventures of Pinocchio.

In the book, the character is called Grillo Parlante and appears four times, representing common sense and Pinocchio's conscience.

However, in the book's fourth chapter, Pinocchio becomes angry and kills the Talking Cricket after it tries to advise him

The Walt Disney Studios Character Model Department created a maquette of Pinocchio and other characters and props during the production of the 1940 film.

Maquettes are small-scale sculptures that are often used to finalize a design's concept.

In Pinocchio, sculptors created maquettes from clay, plaster, and plasticine to help animators visualize the characters' designs in three dimensions.

This is RESEARCH PHOTOCOPY from the 1980s of a page featuring 1938 DEVELOPMENT PHOTO ART of a MAQUETTE used in WALT DISNEY's Animated Film PINOCCHIO.

A maquette is used to visualize and test forms and ideas without incurring the expense and effort of producing a full-scale piece.

It is the analogue of the painter's cartoon, modello, oil sketch, or drawn sketch.

For commissioned works, especially monumental public sculptures, a maquette may be used to show the client how the finished work will relate to its proposed site.

Some museums, such as the Museo dei Bozzetti in Pietrasanta, Italy, specialize in collections of maquettes.

Maquette is also used by animators when finalizing a character design and it can also act as reference for the animators

A Maquette is a scale model or rough draft of an unfinished sculpture.

An equivalent term is bozzetto, a diminutive of the Italian word for a sketch.
