1914 B. Siegel Co. Detroit Michigan Women's Fashion Shopper Monthly Magazine

This lot is a monthly magazine for the home called "The Shopper. This one was published in January of 1914. Beginning in 1884, B.Siegel was one of Detroit’s finest women’s apparel stores for more than 100 years. Its primary store was located in a building on the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and State Street named the Parker Block.

The magazine cover has a beautiful design of a woman in a red coat, feathered hat, and long skirt carrying her ice skates over her shoulders. She's drawing "1914" in the snow highlighting the start of another year. The cover art is signed by the artist, E. E. Noe. The inside of the magazine includes articles on the arts, fictional love stories, a children's section, and sheet music. It also had wonderful advertisements promoting women's clothing at the B. Siegel store and other products. The magazine is approximately 13.75" tall by 10.25" wide and has 23 pages.
