This classic Heddon split cane rod is in beautiful condition. I bought it more than 30 years ago in northern Idaho intending to mount it because it's so rare to have such a rod with its original tube and bag in such good condition. But I never got around to it. (I never fished it because I didn't want to risk damaging its caramel-colored vintage patina.)

Specifications: It's a 3-piece #10 - 9-foot - 2 3/4F - GBG or C. It has a cigar-style cork grip, nickel silver down-locking screw band on what appears to be a Bakelite reel seat. Its nickel silver ferrules are in very good condition: no rust, no missing pieces, and the wraps appear to be tight and varnished, like the bamboo.

I've included numerous photos showing the clear, original handwriting on the cloth sleeve tag and on the rod itself, plus photos of every inch of the 3-piece rod including its single tip.

If you're a collector, you may be able to pinpoint when it was built. My guess is the 1930s-1940s era, but that's just my guess, based on the presentation. Whatever the date, it's an amazing specimen, and it would look great either on the bank of a stream of cold freshwater where trout are lurking beneath, or in a glass display case showing off this original rod, cardboard tube, and bag, with their meticulously hand-written descriptive labels on all three.
