This 2008 Honda Accord 2.2 CDTi has had 3 previous owners and is for sale because my stepfather has given up driving due to an Alzheimer's diagnosis. He's owned it since January 2020 and it has been very reliable. The only fault in that time was the battery being drained by the hands-free Bluetooth Module (a common issue apparently), I removed it and it comes with the car. The previous owner did a lot of maintenance himself (hence gaps in the service history between 2013 & 2020), the last oil and filter change was carried out by ETB at 88,564 miles in Sept 2022 with the correct oil. He regularly averaged over 40 mpg, good for a 2.2 litre engine considering it has been almost all been urban since he bought it.

In July 2023, new front upper and lower wishbones on the offside and new drop links were fitted to rectify the advisories indicated at the MoT test. The slight oil leak persists but is contained by the under engine shield / covers. The DVLA have the car registered as silver but it is very dark silver, grey really.

The black leather interior is in excellent condition, both front electric seats work and the dual zone climate control still blows nice & cold. There are no warning lamps and no faults (apart from there being no Bluetooth functionality mentioned above). The rear parking sensors have not prevented scrapes to the nearside rear door and wheel arch (not dented) and most recently the rear offside bumper corner. The damage to the front passenger side corner was there when he bought it from a relative's friend in Bristol in 2020, who only sold it because of the impending CAZ charge (subsequently put back several years due to COVID). It is the CDTi model, with 138 bhp and no DPF, and no cambelt either, being a chain driven engine.

The car has a 6 speed manual transmission and a 2.2 litre diesel turbo engine. The clutch has no slip, I used it to fetch a friend from the airport today (65 mile round trip) and it drove fine. With the cruise control and climate control on, with so many functions available via buttons on the steering wheel, it's a pleasant place to be.

It comes with a partial service history, the MOT is valid until 14/07/2024 and being the Executive model, has many extras including 4 x electric windows and touch screen control for air con, audio and navigation. The Diamond Cut alloys are corroded but not cracked or badly kerbed; all the tyres are legal. The spare is a space saver and all the tools are present in the boot. All the original owners manuals are present along with invoices, receipts and the last 10 years MoT certificates. There is also the Honda key code, in case another key is required. It came with only one key, which provides remote locking and remote boot release, and has never been an issue.

Starting at the scrap price plus eBay listing fees, this car is listed with no reserve.

I took my friend back to Birmingham late last night, resetting the trip meter. Yes, the M42 has speed restrictions of 50 / 60 mph but it averaged 62mpg on the round trip!
