Selling this feature packed top of the line (of its time 1979) tape deck.
This is a solid heavy 3 head tape deck. It has spectacular analog and digital meters and the lamps and filters for the lamps are unique to anything I have come across.
This unit came into my possession about a year ago. I didn’t have to do anything to except give it some heavy duty cleaning and maintenance. It’s performing incredibly well for its age. It does have some quirks but I’ll describe those now and they do not interfere with the functionality of this beast of a tape deck.
Quirks
Like many tape decks of this class it takes a few moments to engage the tape mechanism. Usually just a few seconds, but sometimes more. Some tape decks have a flashing indicator or something to remind you, this unit does not.
I took this entire unit apart and it has no issues. But there is an occasional rubber or gear screeching. It’s temporary and goes away.
I have played this deck for hours since I serviced it, it’s an absolute performer.
