1970 LVRR Letter Denying Pension,
With 1936 Check for 39 Cents - Montz, Sayre PA

Here are a couple of LVRR items that we found together.

One is a 54-year-old letter from LVRR Chief Engineer J.H. Fitzpatrick to Russell W. Montz of Sayre, Pa., informing that Montz had relinquished his rights to a pension after "nearly 25 years service".

Someone has written in ink on the letter "43 yrs service".

The second item is an uncashed 1936 LVRR check for 39 cents and made out to Montz.

No doubt there is a story here about each of these two items, but I don't know what it is. Perhaps you can figure it out.
