This camera is the No 3 Folding Pocket Kodak Model F Camera , with a strong aluminum body and covered with a seal grain leather. These cameras, this one with a patent date of 1909, were made, starting in 1900 through 1915.

This camera takes 12 pictures on A-118 size film, and originally sold for around $50.00 back then, in 1902. It was a nice quality camera for the time. That would translate to $1400.00 today. This camera features the Bausch & Lomb Rapid Rectillinear lens and a Kodak Ball Bearing shutter with three speeds. It shoots speeds 1/25 , 1/150th & 1/100th of a second. It also features a reversible brilliant viewfinder, and 2 tripod sockets. The camera was easy to use because of its easy erecting shelf and bed. The earlier No. 1 cameras, as well as this one,  were popular during WWI, as they were light and small and would fit into the jacket pocket.

This camera is in good condition for its age, with little patina, as shown in my many pictures. The nickel finish around the lens and the lettering is good with minor pitting, as shown.  The leather covering is very good, and tight with minor patina, as shown. Mechanically, the camera is good. The shutter works perfectly at all speeds. The red lens is good, the bellows are nice and soft, with no pin holes.  The metal frame around the lens is slightly tarnished, as shown. The stand is perfect and bright, but worn looking, the extra take-up spool is present, and the film winder has a good finish. The brilliant viewfinder is good, and the carrying handle is also in good condition.

The lens slides out easily, but you sometimes, you have to carefully place the lens on the runners.  Most of the time, it transitions easily.  The lens bed does not latch shut.

The lenses are all reasonably clean, inside and out. With the pull of the stand, the folding lens and bellows pull out and push back in easily, and you're ready to shoot. Original patents were granted in 1892, 1896, 1902, and 1902. The camera is a larger one, measuring 8" long when folded up.  For being 115 years old, this camera's condition is not expected.
