A great find from a local New England estate!
This scarce antique book is over 138 years old!
Original publisher cloth binding shows light wear as pictured, including rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, a library sticker pasted on the front board, the remnants of a library sticker pasted on the spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges. Binding is just ever so slightly cocked as well. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! The gilt title lettering on the spine displays nicely from the shelf.
Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.
The text block of this volume is clean throughout. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling throughout, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout!
