The cards sizes vary over time but all are a single piece of card printed on both sides with details of the runners and their colours at the races of the day.  The earliest cards are particularly interesting in that they record the dominance of one particular horse owner in the sport, Lord George Bentick.  It was Bentick who commissioned the first ever horsebox to take his horse, Elis, from Goodwood to Doncaster for the 1936 St Leger.

Condition MIXED Fair/Good: creases; some staining and soiling/grubbiness; pencil markings; general age discolouration; abrasion; one card has pieces cut from the top and bottom edges.
