A small saucer depicting the Thomas Viaduct, opened by the B&O Railroad in 1835. The saucer is part of a centenary commemorative set used in B&O dining services on their trains.

This sweet little after dinner saucer was made by the Scammell China company in their higher grade Lamberton ware. It is "Design Patented" which dates it to the "second generation" of this dinnerware, the later 1930s - 1940s. The color is just gorgeous, beautiful flow blue in shades of cobalt.
