1984 Steve McQueen Estate Auction Imperial Palace Cars & Motorcycles Paperback

Steve McQueen Estate Auction Imperial Palace Catalog, November 24-25, 1984

This is the 72-page auction catalog that features 381 lots of personal effects from McQueen's ranch, home, hangar, along with 166 motorcycles, cars, trucks, and lots of automobilia and parts.

Also included is the letter describing the auction as well as the application for credit. It details that there will only be 500 participants; this letter appears to have been written on a typewriter and copied onto Imperial Palace stationary.

The estate auction for Steve's saleable assets was held at Las Vegas' Imperial Palace over 2 days in 1984. The auction included many of McQueen's personal items along with countless cars & motorcycles. It is an incredible resource for McQueen fans and has been used in many cases over the years to verify the authenticity of memorabilia associated with the iconic actor.

Sale highlights included the 1957 Jaguar XK-SS roadster owned by McQueen from 1960 to 1966, sold to Bill Harrah, and repurchased by McQueen in 1977; the 1904 Winton Flyer custom built by Von Dutch for the movie, "The Reivers,"—the car McQueen called the "real star" of the movie; and a slew of vintage Indian, Harley Davidson, Triumph, Yale, and other motorcycles. My only regret is that there’s not more detail of his extensive involvement with the Porsche brand, which is the focus of my collection.

The condition is exceptional, it’s been kept in a manilla envelope for the 20 plus years I’ve had it in a smoke free, temperature controlled area.
