A 14-sided plate with an Asian design in deep cobalt blue from Peter Holdcroft and Co (this is different than the Clementson version with the same pattern name).

Peter Holdcroft & Co. was one of the famous potters located on Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire, England. Peter Holdroft died in July 1852. His wife took his place and dissolved the company in 1853.

The backstamp has the pattern name "Chusa" surrounded by a scrollwork border with the initials "P.H. & Co" below it

MEASUREMENTS

8 ¼” (21.0 cm) diameter x 1” (2.5 cm) deep. Weighs 11.0 oz (315 g)

CONDITION

There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There is significant crazing and one tiny glaze chip along the rim. There are a couple of raised kiln flaws. Only portions of the design have bled; most of the designs are fairly clear.
