Wounded of the War Presentation Medal.  By Édouard Pierre Blin.  Bronze; 70 X 42mm.  Obverse: Victory of Samothrace on field of laurels; at the foot of the statue, to right, the legend, E. BLIN. D'APRES L'ANTIQUE (In imitation of the ancient statue); in exergue, in bas-relief, the Latin motto: QUOVIS CUM VULNERE/ VICTRIX (She is victorious, despite any wound).  Reverse: Classically clad female figure, chin resting on her right hand, her left hand held behind her holding a dagger, seated a socle in front of an oak tree with broken branch and looking at ancient tempe in the distance; blank tablet below; bas-relief inscription in exergue, MEMINIT PATRIA (the country remembers).  Condition: Some deposit residue; VERY FINE.
