For decades people have been struggling with cold start injectors failing. These fail in a few different ways. They will leak fuel from the nozzle when they are not supposed to be on, causing a rich condition. They will not spray at all, or spray way too little rendering their function pointless as they do not give enough fuel to the air mixture on cold starts. Worst of all, they get brittle over time and separate at the body, or the plastic barbs can crack causing an external leak which can lead to catastrophic engine fires.
As time goes on, they are getting harder and harder to find. As the supply dwindles, the prices have skyrocketed and these Cold Start Injectors can cost upwards of $700+! No alternatives have ever been offered (that we know about) and we got tired of giving customers bad news when they send in their injectors for CSV Cleaning Services. So we decided to offer the automotive world an alternative.
These injectors are commonly known as a CSV, Cold Start Valve, 5th injector, fifth injector, 7th injector, seventh injector, 13th injector or thirteenth injector.
They come in a few different configurations, and we have tried to solve for the most common ones we see. If you are unsure if our solution will work for you, please contact us before making your purchase. The most common CSV’s use either a D-Jetronic, an EV1 or a Denso connector. Our CSV uses an EV1 electrical connector. An original using a D-Jet connector will still work with the EV1 we offer. Electrical boots can still slip over the EV1 connector. An EV1 connector is obviously the same. The only electrical configuration we have not solved for at this time is the Denso connector. However, this connector is rare, and the systems using this connector typically are a much different CSV that what we are offering anyway.
