Sold at The Palace Formal Wear, which opened as part of the Main Pavillion for the St. Louis World's Fair of 1904!

Main Ballroom was an Opera House used for shows during the fair up until the late 1920's.    Kept as a part of the Missouri

Historical Society (The Palace is now a museum dedicated to that World's Fair).  The last show at The Palace was

in 1961, one full month with Barbra Streisand and The Smothers Brothers.  The Palace had been closed from The Great

Depression through World War II.  Renovated and re-opened by two brothers in 1960 for the four week show!   Then remodeled

as a Museum of memorabilia from the 1904 World's Fair.  They still have the original Czech. Crystal chandeliers from the 1904

Opera House.  In 1904, most men wore much smaller hats.  Size 8 1/4 was unheard of!  For the age, perfect gold leaf

on the interior including The Palace, where it was purchased!!!
