Rare black bodied Zeiss Ikon Contaflex S Automatic with Tessar f/2.8 50mm lens.

Comes with: Original Zeiss Ikon case in excellent vintage condition. Brand new 1.35v Wein Cell MRB625 battery to operate light meter.

Cosmetic condition (see photos and definitions): Excellent. Leatherette complete and unmarked. Black enamelled top and base plates in excellent condition. Lens barrel near mint.

Cosmetic defects: Just a few minor very light marks from normal use. Original USA retailers sticker on base plate (this could easily be removed if required).

Operational condition: Working well. Rapid winder and mirror operate correctly. Shutter fires on all settings (but see below). Focus ring very smooth. Viewfinder clear.  Exposure meter responds to light and exposure meter needle appears to respond correctly.

Operational defects: Shutter is sticky at 1/8th sec and below. Aperture ring is a little stiff (in one direction only!). Lens has a little light haze.

Cosmetic condition definitions:

Mint: As new in original box, may be unused

Near Mint:  Appears new on first inspection. May be one or two very minor defects

Excellent:  A well looked after camera showing some signs of use with just a few minor defects

Good:  A well looked after camera, well used but with no major defects. May be some paint loss, a few leather scuffs, a small ding, etc

Fair: Some significant defects. May be some major paint loss, small areas of missing leather, damage to top plate, bellows damaged but usable, etc

Poor: Major damage, corrosion, missing parts, split bellows etc
