Mexico : Papier Mache HAPPY DEVIL MASK Folk Art Dance Mask, shiny with 4" horns
This is the shiniest mask I am selling. It is very much Like New.
The horns on this mask are about 3.5" long. The mask measures 6"W x 8"H x5"D -- And the devil looks sooooooo happy here. Dang.

Masks in Mexican folk art are more than just decoration. Worn in folk dances around the country, the masks are an ever-present part of Mexican culture.

Indigenous people used them in rituals, colonial-era people used them in plays, and contemporary Mexicans wear them in dances. You see this mask recur in many of the folk dances where masks are used. It is always a red faced man with horns and usually he has a beard.
