Tamburica. Year and Brand unknown.31" long x 8.75" wide x 2.52” thick
weight 2 lb 8 oz
This is a folk instrument from Croatia, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovania.  (cousins with Russian balalaika and the Italian mandolin). The history of the tamburitza is most commonly thought to be introduced from the Turks by way of Bosnia between the 14th and 16th century.
USED: There are scrapes and wear to the surface of the instrument but it still plays well. It was recently set up by a professional at a music store and so the nut, bridge and strings are at the right spacing and height. It is one piece of wood through the head, neck and tail so it will not sag with age like other antique plectrum instruments. The fingerboard and frets are even.
