A WONDERFUL EARLY 19TH CENTURY PENNSYLVANIA HINGED TOP BIBLE OR DOCUMENT BOX IN NATIVE WALNUT AND OAK WITH A 3/4 CUT HINGED TOP.
THE ENTIRE BOX STILL WITH ITS OLD STAIN AND VARNISHED SURFACE.
Pennsylvania, Circa 1820-1840 in Walnut and oak.
A GREAT EARLY 19TH CENTURY BIBLE BOX IN WALNUT.
THESE EARLY 3/4 HINGED TOP BOXES WERE USUALLY MADE TO HOLD THE FAMILY BIBLE.
LIKE MOST OF THEM, THIS ONE IS MADE OF THIN CUT WALNUT AND IS QUITE SIMPLE IN DESIGN.
IT HAS WONDERFUL EARLY TEE HEADED HAND CUT NAILS AND ITS ORIGINAL HINGES.
IT IS IN A GRUNGY OLD AND ORIGINAL STAINED AND VARNISHED SURFACE.
There is some very minor surface losses and the usual wear and tear you would expect.
14 3/4" wide, 11" deep and 4 3/4" high.
